Former ISF president found guilty of child rape

SWEDEN. Mervyn Johnson, a medium and healer who was appointed president of the International Spiritualist Federation (ISF) in August last year, has been found guilty by a Swedish court of child rape. He has been sentenced to five years in prison. Johnson is to appeal against the conviction next month.

The ISF, which suspended his position as president after he was arrested in November, has now accepted his resignation and is in the process of electing a successor.

His solicitor has confirmed to www.ParanormalReview.com that he faced seven charges and has been found guilty of child rape, sexual abuse, sexual abuse of a person in a position of dependence, and sexual molestation. He will remain in prison until his appeal is heard in mid-February.

Supporters of British-born Johnson, who had moved to Sweden to live and work, complained that our original reporting of his arrest was unfair because no charges had been made against him at that time. Mervyn Johnson was a trance medium through whom a Chinese spirit doctor, Dr Lu, treated the sick.
